NO INTERNAL CHOICES IN CBSE CLASS 12 ENGLISH EXAM 2019; STUDENTS DEMAND GRACE MARKS FOR ERRORS

Overall, the English question paper was balanced. However, question number 11 and 12 did not have internal choices.

On Saturday, the Central Board of Secondary Education Conducted the exam of English Core for class 12 students. Overall, the paper was balanced. However, some of the students faced difficulty. In the English question paper, there were no internal questions options in the novel portion. Usually, the board provides the internal choices in the six marks questions but this year, the students did not get so. The students and their parents got struck. Now the students of class 12, as well as their parents, are demanding for the grace marks.

Usually, the CBSE Board provides two options in the novels named The invisible man by HG Wells and Silas Marner by George Eliot. As per the examination pattern, the schools need to choose any one of them. So, the candidates read only one novel in class 11 and 12 both. Also, they read only the questions from one novel. But the students got the questions from only one novel. So, the candidates who read the same book did not face any difficulty while the rest of the students were not at all happy because they had to leave these questions. They faced the loss of 6 marks without any mistake of them.

Now, the students are demanding grace marks to the board. However, there is no official announcement available from the board’s side. Soon, it is expected that the CBSE Board will take the appropriate action.

According to the students, the question paper did not have the options in 6 marks questions. Otherwise, the paper was fine.

The error on the question paper was regional. The Delhi region did not have such an issue. But the regions such as Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal and Jammu, and Kashmir are affected by the mistake.

This year, around 12,23,29 registered for class 12 examinations. The board is conducting the exams at 4,940 centres.

On January 11, 2019, the board released a notification. As per the notice, the exams which were scheduled on March 28 and April 02, 2019 get postponed. So, now, the exams of Informatics Practices and Computer Science will be held on April April 02, 2019. Also, the exams of Philosophy, Entrepreneurship, Human Rights and Gender Studies, Theatre Studies, and Library & Info Science will be conducted on April 04, 2019.

The exams of class 12 began on February 15, 2019. The last date of the exams is April 04, 2019. The exams are being conducted in the morning shift. So, the timings are from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Class 10 exams started from February 21 and will end on March 29, 2019. The last exam is of Social Science. The timings are the same i.e. 10:30 am.

CBSE Board Exam 2019 begins today: 6 major instructions for students to follow

CBSE has issued some important instructions for the candidates appearing in CBSE Board Exams 2019.

CBSE has taken several measures for the proper conduction of Board Exams 2019.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started to conduct class 12 board examinations from today i.e. February 15. This year, the board is in its best form to prevent the incidents of paper leak, cheating and other malpractices. Apart from this, CBSE has also issued some important instructions for the candidates appearing in the exams.

CBSE Board Exam 2019: Six most Important instructions for students

1. School uniform:

It is compulsory for regular students to appear in CBSE Board Exams 2019 in school uniform. As per the latest information, the board has already strictly instructed the CBSE affiliated schools to convey the same to students.

As per CBSE, students without school uniform will not be allowed to take the exam.

2. More internal choices:

This year, CBSE has announced a piece of good news for students regarding the changes in the question paper pattern.

As per an official release by CBSE, this year, there will be 33 per cent more internal choices. Moreover, the board has also decided to give special consideration to creative answers.

3. Parents' signature on the admit card:

Apart from the signatures of student and principal, CBSE has made a separate column for the signatures of parents. This year, the board has directed the students to get their admit cards signed by the parents too. CBSE has made it compulsory for the students to get all the signatures done. If a student fails to do so, he/she will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.

Apart from this, students should make sure that the admit card should have the required stamp.

4. No entry after 10 am:

No student will be allowed to enter the examination centre after 10 am at any cost. In order to get the entry, students must reach the examination centre on time i.e. before 10 am.

5. What all students can carry inside the exam hall?

Students are allowed to carry a pen and necessary items of stationary in a transparent bag. Apart from this, students are only allowed to carry their school identity card and CBSE admit card.

Diabetic students are allowed to carry snacks along with them.
Students should keep in mind that written material, mobile phones, smart watches etc are not allowed inside the examination hall.

6. Old question paper banned:

In the list of new instructions issued in the academic session 2018-19, the board has also banned the old question papers inside the examination hall. As per CBSE, no student is allowed to carry an old question paper in the exam hall.

Though nominal, the changes have been implemented to check unfair means. Apart from these changes, the board has also instituted a three-tier security check to ensure no instance of paper leaks. On ethical grounds, the details of the security measures installed by CBSE are not being discussed in detail. School Uniform made mandatory for regular candidates along with school admit cards

The board has strictly advised the schools to instruct their students regarding the same. Students may be denied admission to the examination centre in case a regular student chooses not to wear the school uniform.

Parent Signature of CBSE Board Admit Card 2019

Please note that apart from student and Principal’s signature, this year CBSE has also included a column for Parent Signature in the CBSE Board Exam 2019 Admit Cards. Students must ensure that their CBSE Board Admit Cards are properly signed by all required. A student with unsigned admits card would not be allowed to enter the examination centre.

No entry after 10 am

The gates of the examination centres have been instructed to close at 10 am and no students, under any circumstances, would be permitted to enter the examination centre after that time. All the students and their parents are hence advised to ensure that they reach the centres on time.

List of things allowed and not allowed

Students can carry their pens and basic stationery in a transparent pouch. Apart from these, students are allowed to carry only their school identity cards and CBSE Board Exam Admit Cards. Please ensure that the CBSE admit cards are duly signed and stamped. Diabetic students are allowed to carry a snack in a clean wrap. No written material, wallets, mobile phones or smartwatches are allowed inside the examination hall.
